Veinwave | EVRF – Vein Treatments

Vein Wave

This revolutionary technique can also be used to eliminate spider veins on the legs and fine thread veins, known as telangiectasia.
The procedure was developed by vascular surgeons as a way to treat very tiny veins that cannot be treated with sclerotherapy or which can involve risks of burning and scarring when treated with lasers.
Veinwave can also be used on difficult-to-treat areas, such as the face, ankles, and knees.

The treatment relies on thermocoagulation to heat and close vessels instantly. Veinwave is an electrical desktop device that uses insulated nickel needles. The insulation protects the surrounding tissue from advert trauma. Veinwave is a non-invasive way to eliminate spider veins unlike EVRF portion which is used for bigger veins and is minimally invasive treatment.

Very recently, the principle of thermocoagulation was taken even further and thus the EVRF technique was developed, to be able to treat larger vessels as well. Known as EVRF (Endovenous Radio Frequency) the same energy can now be applied from within the vessel using a specially designed and patented catheter.
This new device, known as the EVRF, therefore requires the use of a needle or a catheter depending on the size of vein to be treated.

Generally, the Veinwave treatment has immediate results, and therefore many patients opt to have treatments during their lunch break. The procedure only takes about 15 minutes to perform and involves no downtime, as most patients leave the treatment without any real visible sign on the skin, other than the lack of veins. Patients may be slightly red over the veins treated for a few days, but it will go away.

Treatment of spider veins with the Veinwave system is mostly permanent: once your veins are treated successfully with the Veinwave system, you will no longer be bothered by them. There are times that some veins can be stubborn and may need a touch up.
