What is Radiesse™?
Radiesse™ is a new generation injectable filler which offers superior versatility for both cosmetic and reconstructive use without surgery. It is a great alternative to cosmetic surgery. Dr Hakimian at Laser Touch Medical Clinic uses Radiesse as a main component of his specially developed non-surgical face lift.
Radiesse™ is approved by the FDA. It is ideal for non-surgical facial contouring, rhinoplasty ("nose-job"), cheek augmentation, acne scars, deep wrinkles and folds.
How
does RadiesseTM dermal filler work?
Radiesse™ is made of very tiny, smooth calcium hydroxylapatite microspheres. These particles form a scaffold through which your body's own collagen grows.
Radiesse™ will remain soft and take on the characteristics of the surrounding tissue. New soft tissue will gradually replace Radiesse™ over time, most replacement occurring within the first three months.

What is a Radiesse™ treatment like?
As a minimally invasive, non-surgical approach, Radiesse™ treatment involves a simple in-office procedure which can be completed quickly and conveniently.
After a thorough cleansing of the area, Radiesse™ will be injected under the skin through a very fine needle into the appropriate layers of the skin for augmentation and contouring.

Radiesse™ vs Botox®
How different is Radiesse™ from Botox®?
Botox® and Radiesse™ are two very different products. Botox® smoothes out existing wrinkles and prevents new ones from forming by relaxing the underlying muscle. Radiesse™ on the other hand, acts as a safe cosmetic dermal filler to "fill in" the deep recesses on your face to provide a fuller appearance. Patients have reported excellent results when both procedures are used in combination with one another.
Side effects of Radiesse™
The safety of Radiesse™ has been well-established by FDA. Its primary component, calcium hydroxylapatite, has been safely used for many years in dental, facial, and orthopedic surgery. Its other components are on the FDA’s G.R.A.S. (Generally Regarded as Safe) list for their safe long-term use in other products.
Some common injection-related side effects occur, such as swelling, pain, itching, and tenderness at injection site. When injected in the lips this substance can form nodules, or small lumps, in some patients.
